Long-time creative collaborators Jared Kahi and Johnny Barker have been making award winning shorts, commercial films and music videos under the moniker Lense Flare since 2007.
After winning the 48 Hour Film Festival in 2007 with their film Lease they were commissioned by both Stella Artois and Coca Cola to make narrative, long length commercial films.
As a writing and directing team, Johnny and Jared continue to work commercially with recent projects for clients such as FIFA NZ, Eclipse Mints for MTV and Jägermeister.
They are currently working on a documentary based on Johnny’s experiences playing serial killer Joey Henderson on Shortland Street. And have completed a pilot for a television series currently in development.
Both are also accomplished musicians who compose music for commercial and theatrical work.
