thedownlowconcept formed in 2002 when Jarrod, Ryan and Nige moved to a farm in Matakana with a pet Kune Kune pig called Salmon.

Since then they have written and directed various TV shows like 7 Days, Pop! Goes the Weasel and Jono’s New Show.  With 7 Days winning the best local show of 2009 in Metro.

They have made award winning short films like Brown Peril and Water as a Metaphor, plus music videos for The Hot Grits, The Sneaks and Daniel Munro.

Their commercial experience includes TVCs for Burger King, Arnott’s Shapes and The NZ Electoral Roll Commission. Their experience extends from directing and editing to writing, which they enjoy contributing to when required. As well as traditional TVCs the boys have produced online content for brands such as Montieth’s for their Wild Food Challenge annual event, Speights and Panasonic.

To ease the strain on their working relationship the three no longer live together and their pet pig was sold.
